Ian possesses a wealth of experience that touches on nearly every facet of professional turf management having spent the best part of 36 years working in the industry. He has worked for Tom Irwin Advisors as Lead Project Advisor for over 6 years since, emigrating with his family to New England from “Old England”, working with clients and developing innovative solutions and services to help achieve success.
He has been a golf course greenkeeper and a university lecturer as well as a facility manager. He was the head of professional services for Grounds Management Association, the largest non-profit organization seeking to improve standards and promote the work of grounds professionals. While there, he was instrumental in developing Performance Quality Standards.
On behalf of FIFA, (Federation of International Football Association) the world governing body of soccer, he has consulted on field standards and conditions all over the world.
