On behalf of the Host Committee, I am pleased to invite you to join us for the NNECERAPPA Spring 2008 Conference, hosted by Saint Michael’s College. Our chapter has a long history of producing highquality programs as well as networking opportunities, and this will be no exception. The theme of the conference is "Humor in the Workplace," and our intent is to provide you with tools to face the everyday stresses and strains of your jobs with humor. We are looking forward to having you visit our campus for education, discussion, and exchanging of ideas.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

 

  • Educational Workshop Sessions in the areas of Grounds, Custodial, Mold and Frontline Management. See educational grid for complete listing.
  • Campus Tour featuring the Robert E. Sutton Fire House—a fully certified Fire & Rescue Department, serving multiple towns in the surrounding area and run completely by volunteers. Other campus buildings may be added to tour based on group interest.

  • Entertainment provided by local celebrity, Rusty DeWees, aka "The Logger," to help us find Humor in the Workplace.

FEATURED SPEAKER

The Front-Line Management Track will feature an in-depth, 4-part module, "Developing Supervisory Excellence," by Joanne LaBrake-Muehlberger."Developing Supervisory Excellence" is a training program designed to develop and strengthen the skills required of a supervisor. This program addresses issues and concerns that supervisors may face on a daily basis.

Joanne has been a corporate consultant since 1986 and has worked with clients such as Champlain Water District, Vermont Gas Systems, Ben & Jerry’s, Champlain College, Associated Industries of Vermont and IBM corporation. Joanne is also a senior adjunct faculty member in the Saint Michael’s College Graduate Business Program. Her areas of expertise are communication, public speaking, professional effectiveness and team building.

REGISTRATION FEES

Full Conference Registration Fee includes 1 ½ days of: Educational Workshop Sessions; Business Partner Exhibit Area featuring 60+ booths; Resource materials and tote bag; and Conference Meals including two lunches, continental breakfast, refreshment breaks, networking reception, and banquet.

LODGING INFORMATION

For overnight accommodations, we have a special group rate at the Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center for $115/night, plus 9% tax. Reservation requests received after February 29, 2008 will be accepted on a space and rate availability basis.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

Take exit 15 off Interstate 89: Bear right off of exit and get into left lane. At firrst set of lights, take left into south entrance parking lot. McCarthy Arts Center is on your right. The Tarrant Recreational Center is on the left at the back of the parking lot.

SHUTTLE TRANSPORTATION

On Thursday, March 20th we will provide limited shuttle transportation between Saint Michael’s College and the Sheraton Hotel roughly as follows: 4:45 pm – 6:45 pm making roundtrip loops from the Tarrant Center to the Sheraton and back to the Hoehl Welcome Center on campus for anyone who wants to return to the hotel for a quick break after the workshop sessions and before the networking reception. The shuttle service will resume at 8:45 pm at Alliot Hall/ Hoehl Welcome Center parking lot, to bring people back to the hotel for the Dessert Social to be held at G’s Restaurant/The Tavern at the Sheraton Hotel.
