Our last meeting in person was in March of 2020 as the world was shutting down due to COVID-19. The time since then has challenged all of us but the continued expectations of Facilities professionals remain the same, if not greater. Our goal is to welcome people back to an in-person meeting environment that allows for networking and professional development opportunities that tackle some of the things we’ve learned after experiencing a global pandemic. We’d like to provide facility managers with an opportunity to add to their toolbox in order to rise to the challenges of keeping a campus thriving in a continuously changing environment.

Audience

The approximately 300 attendees of the conference are educational facility managers and business partners from Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Educational sessions are typically 75 minutes in length and presenters should include time for questions.

Potential Topics/Areas of Interest

We are looking for presentations that capture our theme, “Welcome Back” since this will be our first in person meeting after experiencing the uncharted territory with the COVID-19 pandemic.  The expectations to reach the finish line of projects, personnel planning, and maintenance of a safe, clean and positive environment for our campus communities has remained the same and never been more fast paced.

The challenges of the built environment at the educational institutions our members represent are changing rapidly and consistently.   In response to those needs, our business partners are quickly updating their products and services in response.

Collaboration, learning and sharing are the fundamentals our organization runs with.  As we move forward with our responsibilities, change, growth and information must be at our fingertips in order to keep up with the competition and provide the best levels of services for our institutions.

The 2022 NNECERAPPA Host Committee is also interested in if your presentations will fit into any of the following suggested topics:

  • Maintenance & Skilled Trades (includes HVAC, Electrical, etc)
  • Custodial/Grounds
  • Administration, Staffing, HR, & Leadership
  • Capital Construction & Planning

Selection Process

Presentations from NNECERAPPA member institutions and non-proprietary presentations from business partners are welcomed. Joint offerings that show case effective partnerships between businesses and institutional members are encouraged. The Professional Development committee will review submissions and selection will be based on the following;

  • Overall Quality
  • Timeliness of the topic to facilities management
  • Relevance to the conference theme
  • Qualification(s) of the presenter(s)
  • Innovative ideas

Learning Units and Professional Development Credits

Although attendees typically seek topics of interest to them personally or to their employer; they may also be seeking presentations that provide them with continuing education credits in various disciplines, including but not limited to: architecture (AIA credits) and Green Building Certification Institute, LEED Professional Credential Maintenance Program Credits. Presentation and topics that can or may provide credits in one or more of these categories should be identified.

Check boxes are provided to indicate if the presentation is already approved for continuing education credits, or the presenter feels their presentation is applicable and would like to work with the Professional Development Committee to submit it for educational credits. NNECERAPPA is a registered AIA/CES provider. Selected presentations will be submitted for educational credits as applicable.
